HC Chapter 22

Chapter 22: I Obey You (I)

Dong Ci had never been to a nightclub before, but this time she was forced to follow Jing Rong’s will.

When she walked out of the house, Jing Rong was already waiting for her at the intersection by the street lamp. He was quietly leaning against the lamp post, his side profile looking serene and handsome.

Today, he was wearing a loose white sweater with two elaborate and fancy letters embellished on the front. It’s been a while since Dong Ci noticed that these two letters were present on every piece of Jing Rong’s clothing. But it didn’t seem to be a brand – more like some kind of emblem.

His usual style leaned towards dark colors, so it was the first time that Dong Ci saw him wearing something so pure. When she came out, she almost failed to recognize him – only after a few glances did she realize who it was.

Coincidentally, today she was also wearing a white sweater. Although her clothes didn’t have the high-end atmosphere that was reflected in the other teenager’s attire, the style was very similar – simple and loose.

Isn’t this what a couple’s outfit usually looked like?

Dong Ci bit her lip and fought to restrain the urge to turn around and rush back home to change clothes.

“You are very well dressed today,” Jing Rong’s eyes lit up when he saw the girl.

He quickly narrowed the distance between them and grasped her hand, tilting his head to observe her. After a moment, he suddenly chuckled, “It feels like ever since you cut your hair short, you look particularly cute.”

Her hair, which barely reached her chin, was slightly coiled inwards. With the thin bangs playfully curling up, and her delicate eyebrows revealed to the world – her whole look seemed to be more spirited.

The more Jing Rong observed at her, the more he liked it. Taking advantage of his height, he quickly picked the girl up and hugged her in his arms.

“Be obedient and call me Brother Jing.”

Dong Ci supported herself by holding his shoulder, but she was uncomfortable. Leaning back, she frowned and tried to struggle away, “Let me go, someone will see us.”

“Even if someone sees, what’s wrong with hugging my little hedgehog?”

“You are the hedgehog!”

Dong Ci didn’t realize that she forgot to deny his claim on her as she punched him with a fist. But instead of releasing her, he raised the girl a little higher.

Her already pale complexion became whiter, and she quickly grabbed his hair for stability.

“Call me Brother Jing or I will throw you down,” Jing Rong threatened without much heat. His family’s little flower was really too delicate. She didn’t weight a lot, so it was particularly easy to hold her up.

“Let me down!”

Dong Ci was afraid of heights, no matter how small. But she didn’t want Jing Rong to succeed, so she tightened her hold on his hair and threatened, “Quickly let me down. Otherwise, I’ll pull at your hair until you are bald!”

Jing Rong took in a cold breath of air – this girl did it. He quickly grabbed her palm with his free hand and brought it closer to his eyes. There, clutched in a fist, were a few of his hairs.

Jing Rong narrowed his eyes and turned his body to press her against the lamp post. The corner of his mouth was slightly hooked up as he observed the girl whose feet still couldn’t reach the ground.

“Little hedgehog, your courage is getting bigger and bigger.”

The boy raised her face and kissed it without any warning. It’s been a while since he touched her so intimately – it was time for a reminder.

Dong Ci was so preoccupied with Jing Rong that she almost forgot that they still haven’t left the community. When she heard the sound of approaching footsteps, her body trembled with fear of being recognized by a neighbor who knew her face.

She no longer dared to clutch the boy’s hair. Instead of pushing Jing Rong away, she had no choice but to tightly hug his waist with her hands whilst hiding her appearance from the passer-by as much as possible.

Two women, seemingly in their thirties, were walking their dogs on the street as they chatted. From a distance, they saw a young couple intimately hugging each other. When they got closer, they discovered that the two of them were kissing and, with a tacit understanding, quieted down.

The young man was tall and slender. It seemed that the girl in his arms was very petite because it was impossible to see her face with the boy’s figure blocking her completely.

One of the women felt that the little girl’s figure was slightly familiar. As she cast a few more glances their way, she noticed that the girl’s body was trembling in the young man’s arms. As though aware of something, she pressed herself tighter against the boy.

This girl is too sticky…

The woman frowned slightly, feeling that the young girl’s family should have taught her to be a little more reserved. How could she so shamelessly hug a man?

As she curiously observed the couple, her gaze was noticed by the boy who suddenly turned his head and looked straight at the two women. The thin lips, which were occupied with kissing a moment ago, were bright and rosy. The smile that he directed at them was even more touching.

“Aunties,” he greeted with no reservation.

The two women were stunned. After they were certain that neither of them knew the boy, they concealed their thoughts, and politely replied, “Ah, hello.”

One of the women felt that when the little girl heard her voice, she hugged the boy even tighter. Her small face was completely buried in his neck, determined to hold the stance even under the threat of death.

Does this girl know her?

“Jin-, Brother Jing… shall we go?”

Dong Ci heard a familiar voice and was certain that the two women were her neighbors from upstairs. There was no way that she would have the courage to show her face, so she buried herself in Jing Rong’s arms. Her voice was soft and low, appearing slightly coquettish.

“Okay, let’s go,” Jing Rong easily agreed. The girl was clever and knew what he wanted. The corner of his mouth rising, he said with a slow and soft voice, “Stand up and remain in my arms like this – I won’t allow you to be ridiculed by the aunts.”

This jerk!

Although she knew that his behavior was intentional, Dong Ci had no way to resist. Instead, she tightly gripped his waist, venting her emotions this way. When she felt that Jing Rong was about to push her away in a demonstration, Dong Ci quickly slackened her grip and softly said, “I can’t stand by myself, I want you to take me away!”

This girl!

If her face and figure weren’t completely covered up, the two neighbors would have really wanted to take a good look at her.

“Sorry, I have spoiled her too much,” Jing Rong showed a helpless expression, even though he was the one who forced her into this situation in front of outsiders. Hugging the girl up, he turned around to leave.

“Goodbye, aunts,” were his last words to the two women.

Actually, what he really wanted to say was ‘thank you’.

“…”

After they exited the neighborhood and Dong Ci determined that there was no one around, she finally dared to raise her face. The weather was cold, but she sweated so much that a few strands of hair were stuck to her forehead. Her whole being looked miserable.

“Jing Rong, you big jerk!”

This time, Dong Ci was very mad at him. Her moist eyes were full of indignation, whilst her mouth was bright and rosy – it looked very tempting.

Jing Rong couldn’t help but lean over and steal another kiss. Suddenly feeling very happy, he said, “Good girl, Brother Jing will take you to a club.”

The nightclub that Jing Rong took her to was owned by An Cheng Feng’s family. More accurately, it was a club that An Cheng Feng opened with his own pocket money.

The lights inside were dim, and every so often, there were flashes of colorful rays passing through the people. Dong Ci squinted her eyes as soon as she entered – she wasn’t used to the lightning and couldn’t see the road ahead. There was no choice but to closely follow Jing Rong.

The music coming from the stage was deafening, and a few sexy women were dancing on it. Below, many people were standing and cheering them on. Dong Ci curiously turned her head to look at one of the dancers who was swinging around a steel pole. She was so shocked by the sight that she accidentally hit a woman who was passing her by.

“Ouch! This bitch, don’t you have eyes?”

Without waiting for Dong Ci’s apology, the woman aggressively pushed her, making her stagger and step on Jing Rong’s shoes.

Jing Rong’s eyes were cool as he observed the short-tempered woman. He wrapped his hand around Dong Ci’s waist, lightly embracing her, and shortly commanded, “Leave.”

The woman opened her mouth and was about to scold him when she noticed the young man’s face. She has been visiting this club for so long, and there were many people she met, but she didn’t expect to encounter Jing Rong.

Anyone who visited this place a few times, even if they never met Jing Rong, was familiar with him. The woman knew that she made a mistake, so she quickly stuttered out an apology. But, in the end, no one spoke out for her, and she was dragged away by two burly men dressed in black clothes who came out of nowhere.

She didn’t dare to struggle. Before she was ushered away, the last thing she saw was Jing Rong’s handsome face, which was illuminated by the colorful lights. The expression on it was arrogant and imposing.

“In the future, don’t come here anymore. You are no longer welcome.”

“Frightened?”

Unexpectedly, the first time he brought the little girl to play, she was cursed at. Jing Rong touched her small face and pulled her to the seats situated near the wall.

“I don’t like it here.”

This reminded her of hell, with a group of demons dancing everywhere – everything made her uneasy. She frowned and tugged on Jing Rong’s sleeve, “Can we leave?”

“What did you say?”

The music here was so loud that Jing Rong didn’t hear a word she said. Seeing Dong Ci’s expression, he sighed and pulled her to the dance floor. “Come, I will take you to dance.”

“I, I can’t dance…” Dong Ci clumsily stumbled after him. After moving around the dance floor for a while, she noticed that ever since they entered the crowd, the people around them avoided making contact with them – as though deliberately making way for the pair. Or was it just her imagination?

The dance floor was situated close to the source of the sound, and Dong Ci felt the vibrations with her whole body just by standing in place. She looked around. The men and women around her were wildly waving their hands and twisting their waists in various directions. Dong Ci felt awkward, so she directed her eyes at Jing Rong.

She didn’t expect it, but he could also dance. His narrow waist was lightly twisting, while his dance steps had a domineering and modern edge. His whole body gave off a feeling of temptation and coolness.

Seeing Dong Ci rooted to the ground, Jing Rong directed her to follow his steps. However, she had no talent for dancing – her feet kept on stepping on his toes. Jing Rong’s expression slightly stiffened. He pulled the girl into spinning away from him, but when she spun back – Dong Ci felt dizzy. She slammed into his arms, her head smashing straight into his chin.

“Hsss—” Jing Rong released a pained sound. He didn’t expect that Dong Ci would be such a dancing idiot. Both his chin and his feet were injured because of her. This effectively made him lose any interest in continuing to play, and he quickly pulled her away from the dance floor.

“Xiao Ci, how can you be so clumsy?”

This time, Jing Rong decisively declared his loss. He buried his face into her shoulder and helplessly expressed, “I wanted to have a spicy dance with you.”

“Did you think I would want to?” Dong Ci shouted with a red face. She pushed him away, intending to end this disastrous evening by going home.

But how could Jing Rong let her go so easily?

Since Dong Ci wasn’t allowed to leave, she had no choice but to continue staying in this noisy environment. The more time passed, the dizzier she felt because of the loud music.

When Jing Rong got up to answer the phone, she took the opportunity to go to the bathroom, where she noticed a familiar figure. It was Chen Wan Wan, the girl who usually occupied the first place in the school’s exams. She was always so elegant – Dong Ci would have never expected to meet her classmate in such a place.

Chen Wan Wan didn’t notice her, so even if Dong Ci wanted to say hello, there was no such opportunity. The other girl quickly left the bathroom on her high heels. The shoes were so steep, but she seemed to have no problem navigating in them.

“Cheng Feng!”

Dong Ci was walking in the same general direction as the other girl. She slowed down a few steps when she heard the familiar name, and unexpectedly saw Chen Wan Wan speeding up straight into An Cheng Feng’s arms just as she turned around the corner.

The two people were very passionate as they kissed in the shadows of the corridor.

Dong Ci timidly stepped forward, shrinking her body against the wall.

It was no wonder that the back view of the girl being chased by An Cheng Feng the other day was familiar. It turned out, the girl was Chen Wan Wan.

When did the two of them get together? Obviously, they never communicated in class…

Dong Ci stood there, blankly staring at the passion-engulfed pair. Suddenly, she had a bold guess. But before she could express it in her heart, she noticed another person standing at the end of the hallway.

Dong Ci was startled – when did she get here?

It was Yan Ning Shuang.

It was unclear, how long the aloof girl stood there, silently watching the entangled pair. Her back was straight, seemingly completely unconcerned… but Dong Ci felt distressed just by looking at it.
